ADI witnesses dramatic Runaway Electric Car Chase

A Bookinstructor ADI was witness to a dramatic runaway electric car chase on the M62 eastbound at Warrington on Wednesday 6th March at just after lunchtime.

The electric car has seemingly experienced a fault whereby the brakes had stopped working, which in turn forced the police to close the right hand lane on the motorway to other motorists while they worked on a solution!

Around a dozen police vehicles were involved in the task of keeping other motorists and the driver in the runaway car safe.

Bookinstructor instructor Lee said, “it was quite strange as at first I assumed a VIP was being transported from Liverpool to Manchester, but the first police vehicle was only around 2 foot ahead of the faulty vehicle, far too close for normal safe travelling, then every 30 seconds or so another police vehicle passed me, it was such a strange event that I have never been witness too before”.

“The car was brought to a safe, controlled stop around 5 miles from Manchester’s M602. Although this resulted in some small delays for myself, the police force should be commended for controlling the situation very professionally and keeping everyone safe, apparently there were no injuries.”

Jaguar Land Rover said the company was investigating as a matter of “urgency”.

A spokeswoman said: “A full review is underway to determine the cause of this incident, which is still yet to be established.

“The safety of our clients and vehicles is JLR’s highest priority.”

To be clear, there is no evidence that the car was at fault here, we are sure at bookinstructor that electric cars are indeed the future, we are sure that in time the details will come to light! Happy driving!
